ANTI-AGING TREATMENT
BOTOX Injections Coquitlam Port Moody
Injectables for Skin Rejuvenation
Refine and alleviate unwanted frown lines with a customized neuromodulator treatment, most commonly known as BOTOX Injections. In the realm of medical aesthetics, BOTOX treatments are the solution to minimize the effects of aging to instantly revitalize your look.
WHAT IS BOTOX?
BOTOX Injections take the lead as the number one anti-aging cosmetic treatment in the world. While i n effect, they are capable of smoothing wrinkles, frown lines and suspending any future aging.
Dynamic wrinkles stemming from facial expressions cause the muscles under the skin to contract, and over time, as your skin ages, these repeated expressions can cause lasting static wrinkles. The active ingredient in this injectable treatment works on the nerve endings to reduce muscle activity, resulting in the softening of frown lines, and a refreshed new appearance.

HOW DOES THE BOTOX PROCEDURE WORK?
BOTOX is a purified, natural neuromodulator protein used as a non-surgical procedure, our expert doctors will –
– inject a clinically approved dose of the protein into the patient’s face, and as it relaxes the muscles in the surrounding area, it will result in the softening and reduction of wrinkles in the area of injection. Patients will leave with an overall result of a further rested, more reinvigorated and refreshed appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Botox Cosmetic Treatment FAQ
The non-surgical injectable treatment on average lasts three to six months; however, it may vary between individuals as the muscle relaxation is usually observed within 2-10 days, and the peak effect is reached in about 2-4 weeks. Effects of the first injection tend not to last as long as future injections. Regular treatments help the results last longer, and importantly the freshness, quality, and dosage also have a big impact on how long the treatment injectable lasts, so it’s important to get it from a skilled and trusted physician.
The injection location also affects how long the BOTOX® treatment lasts, as the larger the muscles in the BOTOX® injection site, the shorter it lasts. For example, using BOTOX® Injectables for the forehead wrinkles does not last as long as a treatment for crow’s feet. The forehead injection would normally last about 3 months, whereas the crow’s feet treatment will normally last four months or longer.
For aesthetic BOTOX® injections, it’s best to wait at least 3 months between BOTOX® treatments. For people who get these injections regularly, the physician may recommend longer waiting periods. Although these facial muscle relaxers are safe, your body can build up a tolerance to them if taken too frequently.
The waiting period ensures that your facial muscle relaxer treatments will continue to be effective. For first-time BOTOX® treatments, we have a different approach. Generally, we suggest new patients start with a low dose and then get a “top-up” after 2 weeks. This helps ensure a natural look for first-timers.
To make sure BOTOX® is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had:
Other botulinum injections such as Dysport (especially in the last 4 months);
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or “Lou Gehrig’s disease”);
Myasthenia Gravis;
Eaton-Lambert syndrome;
A side effect after prior use of botulinum toxin;
A breathing disorder such as asthma or emphysema;
Problems with swallowing;
Facial muscle weakness (droopy eyelids, weak forehead, trouble raising your eyebrows);
A change in the normal appearance of your face;
Bleeding problems; or
Surgery on your face
Bruising, mild pain, redness, or swelling where the injection was given.
We use some special techniques and special needles that minimize pain, bruising and swelling.
Rare side effects of BOTOX®:
Most of these rare and more serious side effects happen when BOTOX® is injected by an unqualified provider or when the client has an existing medical condition.
Drooping of the eyelids or eyebrows;
Temporary muscle weakness near where the medicine was injected;
Trouble swallowing;
Blurred vision, puffy eyelids, dry eyes;
Dry mouth
While it may be available on some medical plans for certain conditions such as Migraine or excessive sweating, treatment with BOTOX® is not covered if they are purely for cosmetic reasons. BOTOX® injection is usually calculated based on the amount of the units used.
How many units each individual needs for treatment varies significantly. It depends on age, gender, severity, and depth of the wrinkles, muscle forces, and the condition of the skin. Women on average may need 20 to 50 units and men typically need significantly more due to stronger muscles, about 40-60 units. Therefore, we recommend you to have a consultation before receiving any treatments.
